School Assistance

"There is no equality of treatment merely by providing students with the same facilities,
textbooks, teachers, and curriculum; for students who do not understand English
are effectively foreclosed from any meaningful education."
(Justice William O. Douglas, United States Supreme Court, 1974)

We provide experienced support for schools and districts that have received an Office for Civil Rights complaint in the area of second language and ELL education, or have been cited for discrimination against English language learners or their parents.

We possess extraordinary expertise in the area of recommendations for educational placement of ELLS and in the determination of language difference and disorder as well.

Our comprehensive reports can be relied on and be used as well for guiding decisions regarding

special education service delivery as well as regular education.

At Multi-Language Kids, we work with you to move toward resolution, expertly drafting and presenting your OCR Corrective Action Agreement in a timely manner.

This might include ELL program design and implementation, plans for improving parental communication, strategies for teaching English language learners or suggestions for your instructional program for English Learners.

It may include aspects of the special education referral process that need to be revamped to include pre-referral strategies.

This helps to optimize educational outcomes as well as serves to reduce the amount of funding possibly used needlessly on special education when other forms of support are indicated.
